Each Fourth Friday of the month, we provide a supportive and welcoming environment where conversations flourish, connections are forged, and friendships are born. Take time for yourself and come along to expand your personal and professional network as you connect with like-minded women.

This month we will be hearing from women’s rights activist, mother and Iranian refugee, Mina. Mina is a proud defender of women’s rights and her story is an extraordinary one of principle , bravery and resilience. After 22-year-old Mahsa Amini died in the custody of the regime’s ‘morality police’ Mina, along with her brother Madhi,  were determined to change the way women were treated in Iran and they joined the demonstrations that erupted across the country. After a video of Mina throwing stones at a picture of Iran’s supreme leader went viral, the pair were arrested. The slogan WOMEN, LIFE, FREEDOM had become a calling mantra of the revolution and Mina epitomised the bravery of Iranian women who have sacrificed themselves for the hope of a safe and democratic future in Iran.

Following their brutal arrest, Mina and Madhi eventually realised that they were no longer safe in Iran and began an intrepid journey that would bring them to the UK in the search for a better future. We will hear first hand some of Mina’s story both in Iran and here in the UK. Please note, Mina’s brother Madhi will be helping to translate Mina’s story.

Whilst funds raised will go to the Chiltern Centre as usual, we are conscious that many of you will also want to support refugees housed in the local area. We will therefore be accepting physical donations particularly new toiletries such  as deodorant, body wash and  moisturiser. Any specific items being requested will be circulated closer to the time.

Tickets £20 including breakfast.

All proceeds will be donated to the Chiltern Centre for disabled young adults.

If you are interested in speaking at our Breakfast Conversation events, we would love to hear from you! Please fill out the form below and we will be in touch.
