Throughout history, the tenor voice has fashioned strong associations with the operas of the great Italian composers, whose works have become arguably the most beloved of the genre. As a result, a sub-category of tenor has emerged: one which exhibits vocal colours and qualities synonymous with the musical style of these composers.

Join Samuel Stopford in exploring the music of Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti, and others, to determine possible methods for crafting an Italianate tenor, as well as how one may utilise Bel Canto works when transitioning to repertoire from the Romantic and Verismo periods.
